AL-QAEDA JAILBREAKS:U.S,France,Britain &Germany Shuts Down Embassies, Consulates In Muslim Nations Today.

The United States of America has said it will close its embassies and consulates in all the Muslim nations today, after officials said they received an unspecified security threat.

State Department officials said they were acting out of an “abundance of caution.”
Interpol issued a global security alert Saturday after jailbreaks linked to Al-Qaeda and as Western powers planned the temporary closure of certain embassies over terror threats.

Washington ordered its embassies across the Islamic world shuttered Sunday, while Germany, Britain and France were to close their missions in Yemen for at least two days.

Canada said its mission in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka would also be shut Sunday.

Spokeswoman, Marie Harf, cited information indicating a threat to U.S. facilities overseas and said some diplomatic facilities may stay closed for more than a day.

Other U.S. officials said the threat was in the Muslim world, where Sunday is a workday. American diplomatic missions in Europe, Latin America and many other places will be closed on Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak publicly about the matter.
The State Department issued a major warning last year informing American diplomatic facilities across the Muslim world about potential violence connected to the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Dozens of American installations were besieged by protests over an anti-Islam video made by an  American resident.

In Benghazi, Libya, the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed when militants assaulted a diplomatic post. The administration no longer says that attack was related to the demonstrations.
