70-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide In Ibadan, Oyo State…

Oyo State Police Command is currently at a fix, trying to unravel the reason behind the death of a 70-year-old man, Ogunmodede Ojo, through suicide.

The man, said to be a driver, allegedly decided to hang himself with a cord made of cloth, tied to the ceiling in his room at Yemetu Aladorin, Ibadan.

Olabisi Clet-Ilobamefor, the command’s spokesperson, who confirmed the incident to journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday [Sept. 18], disclosed that the deceased decided on the act last week Friday.

Detectives, led by Egom Ekpan, according to her, had visited the scene of the incident and there was no suicide note to trace the cause of the action by the deceased.

The command’s spokesperson explained that the deceased’s brother, Ola Azeez, a retired police officer, who was at the scene, had promised to remove the corpse for burial since no foul play was suspected.
